Volos: He beat his mother, because she did not give him money to buy a motorbike – “To vote”

A new case of domestic violence has come to light. A 41-year-old man beat his 68-year-old mother in Volos last Thursday, because she did not give him money to buy a motorbike.

In accordance with magnesianews, started cursing and threatening his mother, telling her “to vote, I will bury you old”. He grabbed her by the hair and threw her on the floor, resulting in minor bodily injury to her arm and then she could not get up because she has a problem with her waist.

The perpetrator was convicted and will take the road to Larissa prisons, from where he was released a few months ago serving a sentence for robbery and drugs. He was found guilty by the Autophorous Three-Member Criminal Court of Volos, for domestic threat, insult due to work and minor bodily harm against his mother.

The Court sentenced the defendant to a total sentence of 27 months imprisonment and a fine of 90 daily units to € 2 per day, without the appeal having suspensory effect. From his sentence he will serve three months in the prisons of Larissa, where he will be transferred and the rest is with suspension.

The woman testified in court that her son is violent, threatens her and throws objects, she is afraid of him, while about the incident, she said with tears in her eyes, that it had actually happened.

The defendant, who did not have a defense lawyer, testified that he loved his mother, had no other relatives and admitted that he had insulted her and denied that he had beaten her.

The district attorney found him guilty and suggested that he be convicted and serve his entire sentence.

When the accused heard this, he burst into tears, begged the judges not to go to prison again, because he has not been released for a long time, while he claimed that he is clean and watching a closed drug detoxification program.
