“End” from the national fanat Schip – His statement

The Hellenic Football Federation is now looking for a new federal coach for the Men’s National Team. The Dutch elector, who has a contract until December 31, announced his decision (via Instagram) to leave the representative group, after a presence of about 2.5 years.

Fanit Schip referred to his actions, the effort to change football culture and philosophy in the Greek team and left tips for the EPO, that while the possibility of continuing this course was discussed, in the end the Federation was too late to decide, to conclude by saying that in the end, “our vision for football is different”.

Fanit Schip’s statement:

“I want to announce that I have decided, together with my coaching team, after 2.5 years not to continue in the technical leadership of National Greece from December 31 onwards, when my contract expires.

We started our journey in August 2019 and emphasized the change of culture and the shape of the team. We presented a young team with talented and promising players for the future of the National. I believe that we have created a team spirit that the athletes and the coaches have embraced, so that we can emphasize our priority: the national team and football.

We worked hard together and changed the training process, the style of play that began to give a new identity to the team. In this process we achieved good and less good results, but always with our vision and how we wanted to progress as a team.

Discussions took place to continue on this path, however the EPO took a long time to decide on the future, so I felt it was time to move on. In the end, our vision for football is different. I believe in Greek football and the talent I have seen in it, but Greek footballers must be given the opportunity to develop and play.

This takes time and more Greeks in the Super League, so that future coaches have the opportunity to succeed with the National team “.
