A total of twenty cases of theft of copper cables, machinery, devices – tools and other metal objects, as well as cases of damage from areas of the Municipality of Lagada were investigated by the Police and the case was formed. case against three people, aged 56, 15 and 37 years (2 men and 1 woman respectively), for the case offenses of the distinguished thefts in conspiracy and conspiracy, arson and false accusation.

In particular, as it turned out, the 56-year-old, together with his minor grandson, during the period from December 2021 to June 2022, committed thefts and damage to PPC poles and transformers, companies, public institutions, services, warehouses and plots of land in the wider area of ​​the municipality of Lagada. As part of their illegal activity, they used the 56-year-old’s car as well car of his 37-year-old daughter, which granted it to them. A car accident at the end of last May was the reason why they abandoned the car of the 37-year-old, loaded with a number of pieces of copper cables, with her herself filing a false complaint for the theft of her vehicle.

During a home search of the three in Dendropotamos, a number of machines, devices, tools and cables were found and confiscated, some of which were identified and returned to their owners, while the rest are being investigated for their ownership status. In addition, the vehicles of the 56-year-old and the 37-year-old were confiscated as means of committing thefts.

The formed case file will be submitted to the competent Prosecutor, while the investigation continues in order to ascertain their involvement in other similar cases of illegal action.
