An armed clash between 7 people resulting in the fatal injury of two people and the injury of 3 others took place in Kato Patisia.

During the fight, in an attempt to escape from the bloody incident, one of those involved was dragged by a passing vehicle, while the man who allegedly started the shooting fled in a car he stole at gunpoint from a citizen.

Then the police who were looking for him after the description of the incident by an eyewitness, who said that he heard more than 3 shots and that he saw a young man with a gun in his hand stop a black SUV, take the driver out and disappear, found the perpetrator on Democracy Avenue and a chase ensued during which the perpetrator was mortally wounded while two policemen were slightly injured.

The officers were taken to the 401 general military hospital. According to information, the health of the two police officers does not inspire concern. They have wounds, one on the leg and the other on the shoulder blade.

In his post, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, states that two police officers confronted thugs in Patisia who exchanged shots and one of the thugs died.

“They saved the citizens with self-sacrifice, they were both injured, fortunately only slightly. We are in 401 together with the Chief of ELAS and we were informed by the doctors. Everything will be fine”, he notes characteristically.
