The information about last night’s incident in Kato Patisia is confusing, however, as it seems, a total of 7 people are involved in the case. – Four wounded and two dead.
A chaos prevails with the information about the bloody episode and the pursuit in Kato Patisia and Agioi Anargyros.
According to the latest data, overall in the case 7 people are involved. A woman was arrested who was allegedly the driver of the car in which the perpetrator was a passenger, while 4 people were injured, including two police officers. Two people, one of whom was the perpetrator, ended up.
ELAS reports that a man started shooting in Kato Patisia and mortally wounded one person. He then stole a vehicle and headed towards Democracy Avenue in Agioi Anargyrou.
Later, officers who spotted him in the area tried to check on him, as he matched the description they had of the shooter, and that’s when he started shooting. The two policemen were wounded and he fell dead in the exchange of fire.
What an eyewitness reported
An eyewitness reported hearing approx 6-7 shots and how he saw a young man with a gun in his hand stop a black SUV, pull the driver out and disappear.
Takis Theodorikakos: “A big thank you to the two police officers who acted with self-sacrifice to save citizens in Patisia”
The Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos went to the 401 Military Hospital of Athens. There, in the presence of the Chief of the Greek Police, Lt. General Konstantinos Koumas, he spoke with the two injured policemen and was informed by the doctors about their state of health.
Then Mr. Theodorikakos made the following statement: “We spoke with our two policemen, together with the Chief of the Greek Police. The doctors inform us that he is out of danger. I want to publicly say a big thank you to the two police officers because they acted with self-sacrifice to save the citizens of Patisia from the two criminals.
We were informed of the news as we were next to the Immediate Action police officers at the Police Station of Agios Panteleimon, in a difficult neighborhood, where policing measures are being strengthened every day more and more in order to support the citizens’ sense of security.
Again, I thank the two police officers for their professionalism and determination.”
