STASY: New STASY campaign for the mandatory mask in mass media

A new information campaign, which focuses on the obligation to use a mask in urban areas Public transport (MMM), started at the stations, stops and trains of the Fixed Transportation (STASY).

The joint initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, OASA and STASY, aims to “transmit” the message of the obligation, but also the importance of wearing a mask in MMM to the passenger public, in a period in which there is an increased use of MMM and from the foreign visitors of our country.

Using its own media, STASY informs passengers that the use high respiratory protection mask (FFP2 or ΚΝ95) or alternatively a double mask (surgical and fabric) remains mandatory on public transport. In case of non-observance of the health measures, an administrative fine of three hundred euros is imposed by ELAS.

This information is now conveyed to the passenger public in Greek and English and is printed on large stickers on the station platforms, floor stickers in front of the ticket validating machines, posters and banners in the station archives, notice boards and ticket offices, as well as and stickers on all STASY train doors. At the same time, via audio messages at metro and tram stations and stops, as well as inside all trains in Greek, English, German and French, passengers are reminded of the obligation to wear a mask when traveling.

The new information campaign, according to information from STASY, has already started to unfold in the metro and tram and will remain in the “air” throughout the summer. Particular importance is given to stations of the network that are entry and exit gates for visitors, such as the airport and Piraeus stations, as well as to stations with increased tourist traffic, such as Syntagma, Monastiraki, University, Omonia and Acropolis.
