The 74-year-old accused of seducing 4 children (under the age of 15) consecutively and consecutively was found guilty yesterday by the Mixed Jury Court of Dodecanese.
As Rodiaki reports, the court found the defendant guilty of the crimes he allegedly committed between 2002 and 2014 (for the acts he allegedly committed between 1999 and 2002 against a minor, the court ruled that are time-barred).
With its decision, the Dodecanese Magistrate’s Court imposed a total prison sentence of 12 years on him, while recognizing him as in the first instance the mitigating factor of the previous legal life.
The 74-year-old’s lawyers asked the court to serve his sentence at home, but this request was rejected by the majority, so the 74-year-old will be sent to prison.
The case, which was introduced for trial on March 14, was adjourned until April 1, when the hearing process began, which continued yesterday with the completion of the examination of the father of two of the four girls, as well as one of a girl who is currently 27 years old, while the disputed period from 1999 to 2005 was between 4 and 10 years old.
The mother of two of the four minors was also in court yesterday to testify.
The defense attorneys were Mr. Maria Krikopoulou and Konstantinos Hatziioannou and Mr. Yannis Charitos supporting the prosecution for the three minors (the court had accepted the request of the defense to expel Mr. acts were between 5 and 11 years old).
It is recalled that, according to the indictment, the 74-year-old allegedly committed the offense he is charged with, in the period from 1999 to 2014.
More specifically, it is accused that between 2008 and 2014 he committed sexual indecent acts with the first minor girl, who was then between the ages of 5 and 11.
He himself, in the time period from 2010 to 2014, is accused of doing the same with the minor girl, who was then between 4 and 8 years old.
Also, between 1999 and 2005, the 74-year-old allegedly committed sexual indecent acts with the underage girl, who was between the ages of 4 and 10.
Finally, he is accused that in 2012 he committed indecent acts that offend the sexual dignity of a minor girl aged 8 at the time.
The case took the path of justice when, on the afternoon of January 24, 2014, a complaint was made to the police by the mother of two of the four girls, against the 74-year-old, as a result of which the latter was referred to a trial at the behest of the Council of Misdemeanors of Rhodes, which at the same time, he decided to permanently stop the criminal prosecution brought against him, for insulting sexual dignity, which was allegedly carried out in 2001, due to the statute of limitations.
