There is a cliché that says that São Paulo does not sleep and has everything, at any time, every day of the week. The Covid-19 pandemic and the series of closures it caused changed this scenario a little — but for those who want to escape the quiet, it is still possible to enjoy a night out from Monday to Sunday in the city.
On Mondays, for example, Toca da Capivara presents programming until 2 am downtown, with samba and MPB. On Tuesdays, Nossacasa takes jazz and soul to Vila Madalena.
Anyone who wants to enjoy forró on a Wednesday can go to the Jai Club, in Vila Mariana. If you want to hear old rock, the Benedictus Music Bar has a disco with classics from the 1950s on Thursdays.
Then the options multiply. A tip for Fridays is the Selva nightclub, on Augusta Street, when funk and electronic DJs are on the agenda. For rap lovers, Saturdays at Lions Nightclub, also in the central region, have programming of the genre. Ending the week, Sunday is the day of Funilaria Bixiga, which invades the dawn presenting Brazilians.
See below for places to stay overnight in São Paulo from Monday to Sunday.
Monday
capybara burrow
Samba takes over Bixiga bars, downtown, every day of the week. On Mondays, Toca da Capivara has presentations of samba and MPB singers. At the drinks counter, beers range from R$13 to R$18, while the caipirinha costs R$21. The meatballs, a house specialty, sell for R$9 a unit.

Benedictus Music Bar
For those looking for a rock night, the option is Quinta Vintage at the Benedictus Music Bar, a weekly event that brings together lovers from the 1950s. In addition to artisanal draft beer, which costs between R$15 and R$45, the bar has signature drinks — this is the case of Djavan, which has little to do with rock music, but names the recipe that takes açaí cream and chocolate (R$ 28).

If Friday is makeout day for singles, the club has a flirty vibe. The Fritação 200! open bar party, which takes place every Friday, features different styles of funk. The drinks menu includes beer, vodka and catuaba.
R. Augusta, 501, Consolação, central region, @selva.011. Fri, 10pm to 6am. From BRL 55, in sympla.com.br

Bixiga Funilaria
While many people rest and get ready for work on Monday, an old car repair shop in Bexiga turns into a nightclub and hosts a samba circle and DJ in a micareta atmosphere — consolidating itself as one of the hottest places at the end of week. There, bottles of beer are sold between R$15 and R$17. If you’re hungry, shimeji empanadas or jerked beef with pumpkin and cheese cost R$12.
