Handcuffs police officers passed by yesterday to a 44-year-old man, who was hiding in a camouflaged bag in the chapel, in the yard of his house, entire arsenal.

They were confiscated submachine gun, revolver, cartridges, transceivers and coils of copper.

In detail, the coordinated actions of police officers of the Property Crimes Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate resulted in the arrest of the person for possession of weapons.

This is a 44-year-old citizen, at the expense of which a case file was filed for violation of the Arms Law and for disobedience.

In particular, in the early hours of yesterday (07-08-2022) a search was carried out at his house in the area of ​​Diavati, with the assistance of police officers from the Sub-Directorate of Special Operational Actions, where in a safe carefully disguised as a chapel bench in the yard of his house, 1 sub-machine gun was found and confiscated with 4 magazines and 53 cartridges.

In addition, in a search of his house, the following were found and confiscated:

• 1 revolver,
• 17 cartridges,
• 2 communication transceivers,
• Electronic devices,
• Destructive tools and
• Coils of copper weighing a total of 150 kilograms, the legal possession of which is being investigated.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
