Where did the discussions between the ministry and the union end?
In the suspension of their planned mobilizations in Thessaloniki for Monday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 13, his employees are moving forward OASTHafter the ministerial commitments to submit an amendment within the coming week for the granting of Unhealthy and Position of Responsibility allowances, requested by the Union, reports the Voria.gr.
The workers of the OASTH had decided on Monday a work stop from 10:00 to 16:00, while on Wednesday a work stop from the start of the shift until 09:00 and from 21:00 until the end of the shift.
“Assessing the general situation, we have decided once again (even though we have been burned many times in the past) to trust the commitments of the relevant ministries, through their representatives, the timetable they set for us for solutions to our requests”, it is stated in the relevant announcement of Syndicate.
They warn, however, that any breach of commitments “will find us again on the streets of mobilizations at a more intense pace”.
His announcement in detail Workers’ Union:
“We have proven in our long history that the announcement of mobilizations and the suffering of the city and the passenger public is not an end in itself for us.
We do not forget that we too are part of this society by participating in the creative fabric of our city, both ourselves, the members of our families, or through relatives and inexperienced acquaintances and friends.
We know all too well the effects of a strike on the only means of public transport in a city like ours.
However, we are obliged, in asserting our just demands, to follow the unique path that workers worldwide have when they fight and struggle for the right to survival, the elimination of injustice, the possibility of improving the future of our children.
Appreciating the general situation, we decided once again (even though we have been burned many times in the past) to trust the commitments of the relevant ministries, through their representatives, the timetable they set for solutions to our requests.
We are suspending our planned mobilizations for Monday 11/7/22 and Wednesday 13/7/22 warning, however, that any breach of commitments will find us again on the streets of mobilizations at a more intense pace.
Although it is generally accepted that we workers are not responsible for causing suffering through the mobilizations, due to the fact that we are in daily contact with our fellow citizens, to publicly state a thank you for the support and solidarity in our struggle as well as an apology for the inconvenience they have suffered.”
An amendment is coming to give the workers the benefits in question
The Organization also issued a notice, announcing that within the week an amendment is expected to be submitted for the granting of Unhealthy and Position of Responsibility allowances to employees.
“Suspension of the mobilizations, the OASTH Workers’ Union decided, as the filing of an amendment for the granting of Unhealthy and Position of Responsibility allowances is expected within the next week. Therefore, on Monday, July 11, the work stoppage announced by the Union will not take place and the buses will run normally”, the announcement of the Organization’s administration states.
She recalls, concluding that “for days now, she noted that there was no reason for demonstrations, as the resolution of any issues had been initiated and it was only a matter of time before they were settled”.
