Thessaloniki: Reform measures for 15-year-olds who tried to rob pedestrians with fake weapons

by

The imposition of reform measures was decided by a prosecutor and an investigator for the five 15-year-olds who are accused of attacking in eastern Thessaloniki with a fake weapon against pedestrians in order to rob them, while when the Hellenic Police was called. one of them aimed the same weapon at police officers riding in a conventional car.

The minors, all first grade students of the Lyceum, were arrested following a police search, while today they were called to give explanations to the Investigator of Thessaloniki, accused, among other things, of attempted robbery. In their apologies they seem to have claimed that they wanted to “joke” and that the weapon was “like the one we have at Halloween”. They denied that they took videos of the attacks to upload them on social media.

It was finally decided to release them and impose rehabilitative measures on them, according to the current in the Penal Code in cases of juvenile offenders. As it became known, the measures concern: entrusting the responsible custody to their parents and supervision by juvenile custodians.
