The fire that broke out on Patris Hill in Salamina is getting serious.

Ground and air forces were mobilized to extinguish the fire.

Residents received evacuation messages on their cellphones from civil protection.

“If you are at the foot of the Euripides Theatre, move now to Paralia Aktis Karaiskakis. A forest fire in your area” is characteristically mentioned in the first message, while in the second it is stated that those who are on Agios Nikolaos and Agios Therapontos Streets should move to the Beach of Aktis Karaiskakis.

26 firefighters, 12 vehicles, 6 aircraft, 1 helicopter are working on the fire.

Volunteer firefighters are also helping, while 12 firefighters with 5 vehicles are crossing from Piraeus by ferry.

An evacuation order was also given for the Salamina Health Center.

Staff, patients and equipment were transferred to the 2nd health center of Salamina.

Emergency services are on standby.

The fire in Salamis looks serious as it is currently raging on three fronts.

In particular, it rages on the Patris hill, in the Samari area and in the Windmills.

Due to the fire, vehicular traffic has been stopped on Marathon Avenue in both traffic streams as well as on Faneromeni Avenue also in both traffic streams from the height of its junction with Salaminos Avenue to the height of its junction with Galaxidi Avenue .
