In Dadia Evros, the most difficult fire is currently raging in the country.

The fire is burning forest and moving south on the fringes of the Dadia National Park, without having entered its core. Efforts are also being made by the Army’s project machinery to create anti-fire zones.

According to Petros Anthopoulos, director of Evros Forests, the fire has been contained due to the very weak winds blowing in the area, however, the fact that the flames are moving in the dense and mature pine forest makes the work of extinguishing difficult.
