Weather: The temperature remains high – Where the mercury will show 40 degrees

Generally clear weather is predicted today according to the forecast EMY.

Clouds will develop in places in the continental areas in the afternoon and local rain will occur in the central and northern highlands and possibly isolated storms in the highlands of Macedonia.

Winds will blow from north directions in the west 3 to 5 and in the east 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally up to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will remain high and will reach their continents 37 to 39 and possibly locally west of 40 degrees Celsius. In most island regions the temperature will reach them 35 to 37 degreeswhile in the Cyclades and northern Crete it will not exceed 31 to 33 degrees Celsius.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Generally clear. Clouds will develop in the afternoon hours and local showers will occur in the mountains of Macedonia and possibly isolated storms in the mountains of eastern Macedonia.
Winds: Variable 2 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 19 to 37 degrees and locally in central Macedonia up to 38 to 39 degrees Celsius.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS

Weather: Generally clear. In the afternoon hours, temporary clouds will develop in places on the mainland and in the mountains of Epirus, rain may occur.
Winds: Northwest directions 3 to 4 and from noon gradually local to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 21 to 39 and locally in the continental parts possibly up to 40 degrees Celsius, while in the Ionian Islands the maximum will be 2 to 3 degrees lower.

THESSALIA, EASTERN CONTINENTA, EASTERN PELOPONNISUS

Weather: Generally clear. Clouds will develop in the north in the afternoon hours and local rain will probably occur in the highlands of Thessaly.
Winds: North northeast 4 to 6 Beaufort. From the afternoon variable 3 to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 19 to 39 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Clear.
Winds: From north directions 4 to 6 and in the Cyclades and eastern Crete, locally up to 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 22 to 33 and in southern Crete up to 37 degrees Celsius.

EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE

Weather: Clear.
Winds: North northwesterlies 4 to 6 and temporary in the islands of the eastern Aegean up to 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 24 to 37 degrees Celsius.

EUBOEA

Weather: Clear.
Winds: Northerly 3 to 5 and southerly 5 to 6 Beaufort, which will gradually weaken from the afternoon.
Temperature: From 23 to 36 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA

Weather: Clear.
Winds: North northeast 4 to 5 Beaufort and in the east 5 to 6. From the afternoon north 3 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 22 to 37 degrees Celsius. On the eastern coast the maximum will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Generally sunny with a few temporary clouds in the afternoon in the surrounding mountains.
Winds: Variable 2 to 3 and mid-afternoon southerly to 4 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 24 to 36 degrees Celsius.
