“MyPhoto” and digital tachograph are coming to gov.gr – What changes with the new digital services

THE digital tachograph and MyPhoto.gov.gr are included in the actions that the Ministry of Digital Governance is preparing in the near future.

As the general secretary of Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures pointed out to APE BEE, Leonidas Christopoulos, “two more services will be available in the near future. The digital issuance of a tachograph card that will essentially facilitate professional drivers, who will now issue it easily and quickly through gov.gr. Secondly, the MyPhoto.gov.gr, a horizontal application that will cover all government documents where photography is required and will facilitate professional photographers as well as citizens. It is of major importance that the digital transformation of the state which started three years ago, unraveling the thread of the vision of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has been put on a solid foundation and has acquired an extraordinary dynamic, which for the first time offers our country the possibility of becoming part of the international digital world.

In particular, with regard to the digital tachograph, the card issuing process for professional drivers is expected to go into production on gov.gr. The digital tachograph card identifies the driver on a pan-European level and allows the storage of data about his activity, thus ensuring road safety. With this particular application, professionals will be able to issue the card quickly, efficiently and without going to the Transport Directorates of the Regions.

The application MyPhoto.gov.gr

State documents that require a photo of the citizen (eg driver’s license) will be horizontally supported by the creation of the MyPhoto.gov.gr application which will be aimed at professional photographers and will greatly improve the level of services provided to citizens. With this platform, photographers will be able to upload citizens’ photos to the Government Cloud (G-Cloud), while citizens will be able to “download” the digital files and/or give the right to the relevant government agencies to use.

In 15 days about 1000 digital vehicle transfers

The digital transfer of a vehicle that has been added to the citizen service is a particularly simple process that is done with one click and is completed through drivers-vehicles.services.gov.gr with minimal actions on the part of both the seller and the buyer. In fact, as Mr. Christopoulos underlined, “the digital transfer of a vehicle is another action that we implemented within the framework of the National Program for the Simplification of Procedures (E.P.A.D.), through the programmatic agreement of the Ministries of Digital Governance and Infrastructure and Transport , which significantly facilitates the lives of our fellow citizens. Proof is the fact that within 15 days approximately 1000 vehicle transfers have already been done digitally.

As for the other integrated actions of the Ministries of Digital Governance and Infrastructure and Transport for the digitization and simplification of procedures for vehicle owners and drivers, these are:

• Temporary driver’s license

• Driving license renewal

• Copy of driver’s license

• Driver’s license replacement

• Copy of vehicle registration license

• Calculation of vehicle transfer fees

• OpenCar (This is the platform through which citizens can search for information about vehicles that have license plates issued in Greece)

In fact, temporary driving licenses from 11/5/2020 number about 400,000, renewals of driving licenses – from 13/12/2021 reach about 20,000, while 30,000 copies of driving licenses from 27/5/2021 and 10,000 copies have been recorded vehicle registration licenses from 13/12/2021.
