A 24-year-old and a 29-year-old were arrested – The two youths were part of a group that attacked a platoon
They were arrested this morning at the junction of Navarinou and Mavromichalis streets in Exarchiaby law enforcement officers, two nationals (a 24-year-old and a 29-year-old) charged in each case with violence against officers, violation of weapons laws, attempted dangerous bodily harm and bodily harm.
In particular, the two young men had taken part together with other people in attacks against a platoon on duty on Harilaou Trikoupi Street, throwing bottles and stones at them. During the attack, abusive expressions were addressed to them.
The individuals then fled, continuing to throw objects at the pursuing officers.
According to THE GREEK POLICE after a while the two defendants again approached the policemen of the platoon, abusing them. The policemen chased them and arrested them, with the 24-year-old resisting vigorously, injuring the policeman who tried to immobilize him.
Those arrested with the case filed against them were taken to Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
