Abduction of a 7-year-old in Rethymnon: The 47-year-old is free with restrictive conditions

The 47-year-old hotel worker in Rethymno who was accused of kidnapping a 7-year-old boy was released with restrictive conditions.

According to information from cretapost, after her apology to the Investigator of Rethymno, it was decided to impose the restrictive conditions of the ban on leaving the country as well as the appearance once a month at the police station of her area.

It is recalled that the 47-year-old from Belarus was brought to the Prosecutor’s Office of Rethymno on Monday morning, who prosecuted her for abducting a minor. She denies the accusations and says it was a misunderstanding.

It is worth noting that the Greek parents of the child made it clear to the authorities from the beginning that they do not want criminal prosecution of the accused.

What happened at the hotel in Rethymno

It all happened early Sunday morning when a hotel employee grabbed a 7-year-old boy of Greek origin and for unknown reasons carried him into her room, in the hotel area, where she locked him, according to the child’s testimony

According to authoritative sources, the Greek parents of the child were looking for him in fear without success.

However, after about an hour of being held hostage, the little boy managed to escape from the foreign worker’s room when she left to return to her post and call for help.
