• – 1,166 in the Ionian Islands,
• – 1,127 in Central Greece,
• – 1,096 in Epirus,
• – 1,064 in Thessaloniki,
• – 619 in the North Aegean and
• – 473 in Western Macedonia.

In particular, the violations confirmed concern:

• – 4,488 for excessive speed,
• – 7,866 for illegal parking,
• – 1,650 for driving without a driver’s license,
• – 1,559 for not using a protective helmet,
• – 798 for not using a seat belt,
• – 519 for K.T.E.O.,
• – 483 for drunk driving,
• – 385 for mobile phone use,
• – 384 uninsured vehicles,
• – 221 for traffic light violation,
• – 208 for driving in the opposite traffic flow,
• – 188 for irregular maneuvers,
• – 166 for illegal overtaking,
• – 132 non-observance of safety distance,
• – 98 for worn tires,
• – 81 for not using child seats,
• – 75 for opposite traffic on a one-way street,
• – 61 for driver distraction,
• – 23 for violation of priority,
• – 23 for improper use of lights,
• – 12 for lack of seat belt and
• – 3,542 other violations.

Violations on the coastal road of Athens Souni

Targeted actions and specialized traffic controls of the Attica Traffic Directorate were carried out on a daily basis throughout the week of August 1 to August 7, 2022, in the area of ​​the coastal E.O. Athens-Sounio, with the aim of dealing with improvised races, as well as other dangerous violations that lead to traffic accidents, disrupt the safety of transportation and the smooth and safe movement of citizens.

A total of 442 traffic checks of drivers and vehicles were carried out and 280 violations were confirmed, for which the corresponding administrative fines were imposed.

• – 55 for speeding
• – 18 for driving under the influence of alcohol
• – 9 for lack of driving license
• – 6 for not using a seat belt
• – 15 for not wearing a helmet
• – 4 for abnormal maneuvers
• – 3 for violating a red light
• – 3 for demonstration of skills
• – 3 for improvised matches
• – 1 for mobile phone use
• – 84 for other violations

In addition, 13 pairs of license plates, 24 vehicle licenses, as well as 41 driving licenses were removed.

Finally, 1 vehicle was transferred.

Controls will continue with the same intensity in other areas of Attica, which show increased and dangerous delinquency, as well as throughout the rest of Greece, with the aim of reducing traffic accidents and road safety.
