The guilt of the 34-year-old defendant, for all the acts attributed to her, was requested by the prosecutor in the trial for the abduction and sexual abuse of the 10-year-old student, in Thessaloniki, a case that shocked the public in June 2020.
“Her claim that she went to school but did not decide what to do and that she acted because she felt sorry for the minor is not valid. He had prepared it. It results from her visits to the child search site and visits to the school. He wanted a kidnapping and not a simple hospitality of the minor. He used a lie to deceive her and she followed her to her house “, the prosecutor noted, addressing the jury and regular judges of the Thessaloniki Criminal Court, while she added:” We are absolutely convinced that she mixed substances in her juice to get drugs her resistance and her spiritual clarity, so that the minor cannot resist her immoral intentions “.
With the same proposal, the prosecutor requested that her 41-year-old co-accused be found guilty of the complicity in the kidnapping, but acquitted due to doubts about the complicity in the juvenile report.
“I missed my child”
For the reasons that pushed her in her actions, the 34-year-old spoke in her apology, who gave her own position for the two 24 hours that the abduction of the minor lasted. She apologized and stressed that she has bitterly regretted her whole life.
“My ex-husband pushed me into prostitution because he had a financial problem. I lived a double life, “she said at the beginning of her apology, adding that she continued to be extradited after she divorced so that she could make a living.
“I missed my child. I had used. I went to school. I saw the minor, with whom we knew, and I considered it normal to take her home to play, to take out my motherly instincts. He followed me willingly without any violence. If he was not following me at that moment, nothing would happen. The taxi did not stop anywhere, the route was continuous. We went home I made her sit in the living room, I had got some food to eat. “We had the juice together, I had not mixed anything at that time”, he claimed.
“Cover my gap”
“We opened the Mathematics and History books for him to read. At that moment I was filling my own gap because my child was missing. I was in a constant delusion. I took off her shoes, her feet were cold and I suggested we take a bath. I never went into the bathtub with her. When she entered the water I was willing to wash her body with shampoo. I did not touch the sensitive points in the way described in the case file. I brought clean clothes to wear. “Then we opened a box of fo-bijou, a toy I played with my own daughter.”
Panic, apology and drugs
She later said that watching the message of the disappearance of the 10-year-old (Amber Alert) on TV and the extent of the issue, she panicked. “In the afternoon the little one asked me when she would go home. She asked me if her mom was okay and there I realized that I was wrong and that I had to take her home. I made one last use of drugs and cut half a sedative which I gave to the little one. I’m so sorry about that. He was not directly stunned. I told her “let’s go to sleep and tomorrow morning I will take you to your mother” I took her to the bedroom, I reassured her. I tried not to show my panic. Because they kept coming and going, I seemed to be in a panic. “When the child fell asleep, I went to sit in the living room and watched the progress of the case.”
“In my mind I thought I had not done anything wrong. I took the child to take care of him. I apologize, I did not go to kidnap him nor was I in the mood to be abusive. I have never been in such a mood with children. I was a normal person. The next day the child had a hard time recovering. I gave him food, to be as good as possible mentally and physically. I thought I had done well.
At this point he stated that he had given drugs to the minor in an attempt – as he said – to wake her up as soon as possible. “It’s a bad idea, of course. I thought that it would make me get out of all this situation that had been created faster. He did not seem to react and we decided to sleep a little longer. I did the same to get together. “All the time the child was at home I did not move, I did not go anywhere.”
The release of the minor
“She woke me up on Saturday and told me it was time to leave. He did not know the day it was. But we had a dialogue and that I will shoot her because her mom is worried. I told her that when we start you will be behind me and that we will take a taxi. We actually moved together and on the way our traffic lights stopped. He was left across the street. I did not intend to leave her there, but to bring her back. I left there panicked because I saw a patrol car. I was in bad shape and physically due to insomnia. I left and went to Katerini where I was arrested. When asked by the President of the Court why he did not notify the mother of the minor, he replied that he did not have her cell phone, emphasizing that he knew her because they used to live in the same neighborhood.
The accused as her accomplice
As for the accused as her accomplice, she said that “she was a frequent client of mine and we had developed a formal friendship. “I told him – he continued – that I was wrong and I have to correct it. “But I did not explain to him exactly what.”
In his apology, he said that he met the 34-year-old via the Internet and that he often met her for a fee. She said she was shocked to learn of her husband and he felt sad for her. During the “quarantine”, as he noted, “we agreed to offer me cleaning and cooking services because the lady I had was not coming”.
He denied any involvement in the abduction, claiming that when he was informed of what had happened, he met her, urging her to contact the police. “I found her in a state of complete panic. I can not understand when he removed the child because he did not go immediately to the police. I was pressuring her but in her panic she was denying and crying “he apologized, expressing his regret that he could not prevent the situation himself.
