He passed away yesterday, Tuesday, August 16, at the age of 90, the “veteran” journalist, Nikos Parnassas.
As ESIEA states in its announcement, Nikos Parnassas was born in 1932 in Chalkida. After completing his high school studies, he began his journalistic career as an artistic editor and content editor at the newspaper “Ethnikos Kyryx” in 1964. He then worked at the newspapers “Simerina”, “Hellenikos Vorras”, “Eleftheros Kosmos”, “Eleftheri Ora” and “Free Press”. He was head of artistic reporting in the newspaper “Apogeumatini tis Kyriaki”, but also editor and editor-in-chief of the magazines “Theatis”, “Family Treasure”, “Panorama”, “Proto”, “Embros” and “Diaplasi ton Padion”. Finally, he worked as an artistic editor at the “ANTENNA” television station, while he was head of the Press Office of the Ministry of Culture. In his book “The Years of Hunger and the Children of the Occupation”, he vividly described his difficult childhood and teenage years during the war.
Nikos Parnassas was one conscientious and decent journalist who distinguished himself in artistic reporting.
