Along with the heavy rain came strong winds that swept across the basin.
A young man, who was inside his car, which was crushed by an uprooted tree, miraculously escaped. The intervention of the Fire Department was immediate to free him.

Worsening of the weather with heavy rains and storms, which will be accompanied by a high frequency of lightning, hail and temporarily, during the phenomena, by strengthened gusty winds, is predicted from tomorrow Tuesday until Friday.
The phenomena will also manifest in hours outside of the classic instability (noon – afternoon) and will affect not only the mainland but also the island country and especially the Aegean. Thessaly, the Sporades, northern Evia, the northern Aegean and Halkidiki will receive the heaviest amounts of rain, mainly on Wednesday and Thursday.

Evia, the islands of the northern Aegean and mid-afternoon in the rest of the mainland and Crete.
On Wednesday (24-08-2022) the strong effects will continue and will affect the eastern mainland and island country (except the Dodecanese) from early in the morning and the rest of the mainland in the afternoon-afternoon.
On Thursday (25-08-2022) heavy rains and storms are predicted in central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, eastern Sterea, the Sporades, Evia, the islands of the north-eastern Aegean and mid-afternoon in the rest of the mainland and Crete.
On Friday (26-08-2022), according to the currently available forecast data, the phenomena will continue in the above areas but will gradually weaken.
On Tuesday, rains and local storms are expected in most continental areas of the country, in island parts of the North Aegean, in the Sporades and locally in Crete, except for the southeastern island parts. The phenomena will be locally intense and in continental areas there is a small chance of local hail of small size.
