Since Saturday, investigations are underway to locate a man 64 years old whose traces have been lost since Thursday in the area of ​​Mani.
In particular, according to tharrosnews.gr, the man left his house in Saidona on August 18 to go to the Vasiliki forest, where he keeps bees, and since then he has not given any signs of life.
His vehicle was spotted on Friday on the Exochori – Dasos Vasiliki road and when forces of the EMAK, the Police, the Fire Brigade, as well as the GAIA, started the investigations, the first point was the surrounding area.
However, despite the ongoing investigations, which even involved a specially trained dog, as well as a drone, nothing was found.
According to information, the man who knows the area well and is characterized by his own people as an experienced mountaineer and speleologist, had left note, where it was written that if he gets lost, don’t look for him. Of course, the Police do not know how old the specific note is.
Other notes were found in his house, among them one written about Professor Liantini, who in 1998 had decided to disappear and was finally found dead in 2005 in a cave of Taygetos.
The investigations are now being continued by firefighters of the P.Y. Kalamata, volunteers of GAIA, as well as other groups, with his own people being optimistic that the 64-year-old is alive.
