The representative of the Fire Department called on the citizens not to be complacent for the next 48 hours during which the wave of bad weather will continue, with strong phenomena.
An alarm has been sounded in Santorini, as landslides occurred in the port of Athens due to the intense weather phenomena that have been affecting the island since morning.
The spokesman of the Fire Department, Giannis Artofioos, said in its First Program ERTthat the fire brigade has been mobilized and vigilance is required.
“We have mobilized 5 vehicles as there were landslides in the port as well, without problems in navigation, but vigilance is needed because it is a tourist area and the entrepreneurs of the accommodations must inform the tourists about the intense phenomena on the island” pointed out Mr. Artophios, while as he said there are also power outages.

Mr. Artophios called on the citizens not to be complacent for the next 48 hours during which the wave of bad weather will continue, with strong phenomena. As he said yesterday, it took just an hour for 40mm of rain to fall.
“We should not overestimate our strength, all our fellow citizens who will move on the streets” he emphasized and called on citizens not to attempt to cross rivers or flooded roads and not to park their cars under trees that have fallen.
