The MST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra) decided to offer discounts on the sale of organic rice after the product was mentioned by former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) during his interview with Jornal Nacional, on Thursday night (25). ).

Armazém do Campo, which sells products from settlements and camps belonging to the movement, sells ten types of organic rice, ranging from ordinary rice to red collared rice.

This Friday (26), all of them will be offered on national network with at least 13% discount. In some stores, such as Belo Horizonte and São Paulo, the price reduction may reach 20%. The benefit will also be made available to those who choose to make the purchase online.

The promotion is being called internally as “sextou com Lula”. “Our production is aimed at feeding the people with quality food at a fair price”, highlights the coordinator of the Armazém do Campo network, Ademar Ludwig.

When asked about the MST in Jornal Nacional, Lula defended the social movement, saying that it is playing an “extraordinary” role in food production and that “that MST of 30 years ago no longer exists”. “The MST is the largest producer of organic rice in Brazil,” said the former president.
