The quadriplegic talented girl hugged her favorite singer at his concert in Mytilini

“Come down a little so I can see you” sang Yannis Plutarchos at the Municipal Stadium of Mytilene for dear Alexandra Kerlidou, a musically talented quadriplegic girl whom we have written about and admire.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 17, Alexandra went to the concert of Yannis Plutarchos at the Municipal Stadium of Mytilene to see her favorite singer and her joy was indescribable, not only for the photos they took together, but also for the sweet kiss he gave her. , singing “Come Down A Little Let Me See You.”

Alexandra Kerlidou was born in Veria and at the age of 5 she moved with her family to Mytilini, where her mother and her ally, Eleni Asiminou, comes from. She was diagnosed as a child with spastic quadriplegia and paralysis. At the Center for Diagnosis, Evaluation and Support (KDAU) where her parents turned, they said that she can attend a regular school, because of her intelligence and abilities. But they decided because of the wheelchair and the difficulties, as parallel support staff would always be required to attend the special school.

Alexandra Kerlidou, currently 22 years old, studied at the Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratory (EEEEK Lesvos) and has explained to us about her condition that “in simpler words, I cannot control my hands and feet most of the time. In addition the difficulties are that if I change some emotion for example, when I’m stressed one hand can be a little tight, and at the same time it can happen when I’m very happy the same thing happens. Another difficulty is speaking, but fortunately with this program that I write with my eyes it is not difficult at all to communicate. Quadriplegia can immobilize the body but the mind remains free to dream, learn, rejoice and…sing.”

Another hobby of hers is promoting makeup and skin care products on social media!

From the Special Primary School to the Academy, she learned with a special computer program to write, communicate and has given musical concerts, among them one at the “Stavros Niarchos” Foundation and at the Megaro Musikis, something that makes Taso’s father constantly proud.
