The new Infant Center of the Holy Metropolis of N. Ionia will accommodate 100 infants and toddlers in two distinct and specially designed activity rooms, which both with the impressive variety of colors and with their construction details will fully meet the educational needs of the children .
The Holy Diocese of Nea Ionia is implementing yet another new modern educational structure, which will cover the increased needs of the local community of the Municipality of N. Philadelphia – N. Chalkidona and will offer valuable support to the high and at the same time demanding needs of the families of the wider region, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalkidon.
On Monday, August 29, 2022, under the Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Gabriel, the Consecration ceremony was held and then the foundation stone was laid for the start of work on the new Nursery School of the Holy Metropolis, which is being built on a plot of land of 2,104 sq.m. on the streets N. Plastira – Kambouroglou – Grammou in N. Philadelphia, which was offered to the Holy Metropolis by the Municipality of N. Philadelphia – N. Chalkidona exclusively for the needs of its creation.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs Mr. Nikis Kerameos, the Minister of Development and Investments Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mr. Konstantinos Hatzidakis, the Member of Parliament Mrs. Eleni Avlonitou, the Deputy Governor of Attica Mr. Georgios Dimopoulos, as a representative of the Regional Governor of Attica Mr. Georgios Patoulis, the Mayor of Philadelphia Prefecture – Chalkidona Prefecture Mr. Ioannis Vouros, the head of the municipal faction “the city of our heart” Mr. Haris Tobouloglou, the head of the municipal faction of the municipality of Heraklion Attica “Heraklion Together” by Mr. Georgiou Papadimitriou, members of the Municipal and Community Councils of the Municipality of N. Philadelphia – N. Chalkidona, clergy of the Holy Metropolis, representatives of local cultural associations and city bodies.
In his speech, His Eminence, after expressing his thanks for the honorable presence of everyone at the ceremony, referred to the importance and the goal of the establishment of the new Nursery School, which is being founded in the context of the cordial cooperation between the Holy Metropolis and the Municipality of N. Philadelphia – Prefecture of Chalkidonas and which comes to be added to the already existing three pre-school education units that the Holy Metropolis of Prefecture of Ionia has.
