Ten years of Athens Flying Week: In Tanagra September 17 and 18 – What you can see

The biggest air show in Greece takes place on September 17 and 18 in Tanagra. Athens Flying Week celebrates 10 years and returns this year with impressive exhibits and a host of breathtaking aircraft demonstrations.

Among the entries – both from Greece and from abroad – Saudi Arabia’s F-15s stand out with the anniversary decoration, the aircraft that was the inspiration for the new film Top Gun, the F-18 Hornet Displaywith the colors of the Swiss Air Force and the Rafale Solo Displayy of the French Air Force.

Also, the Jordan Falcons aerobatic squadron, which has won the award for best air show by a foreign team three times at England’s Royal International Air Tattoo, the Polish Orliks ​​with seven aircraft in the air performing maneuvers, the Polish Orliks ​​and the Flying Bulls with the Bo 105 aerobatic helicopter.

Also, the Italian champion – and favorite of the Greek public – Luca Bertossio with the acrobatic Glider, and Luca Salvadori with the single-engine “Silver Chicken” also participate.

The largest Greek Air Show hosts all of the air assets of the Greek Armed Forces. In particular, the public will have the opportunity to see it up close the new Greek Rafale, Air Force F-16 “Zeus” and T-6 “Daedalus”, spectacular F-4 Phantoms conducting a mock airfield attack, a real dogfight between F-16 and Mirage 2000-5, the EMB flying radar -145, but also the legendary Spitfire.

In addition, the helicopter AH-64 Apache of the Army Aviation will demonstrate its unique flying capabilities, while a real search and rescue mission will be carried out in a combat environment with the participation of Special Forces under the cover of Army helicopters. On the part of the Navy, the AB-212 and S-70 Aegean Hawk helicopters take part.

Along with Greek and foreign aircraft, you will also enjoy Aegean’s Airbus 320 NEO in unique formations over Tanagra airport.
