An incident occurred earlier today between a patient’s relative and the medical and nursing staff of the Covid clinic, Kavala hospital, with both sides ending up at the Police Department in order to file lawsuits.

The incident was brought to the public by the president of the Employees’ Union of the General Hospital of Kavala and member of the general council of the Panhellenic Federation of Employees of Public Hospitals, Katerina Petraki, with her post on her personal profile on a social networking website.

According to her post, “another incident of physical and verbal violence against medical and nursing staff of our hospital! Let’s hope this time for the exemplary punishment of the perpetrator, in order to avoid similar incidents in the future and also for the hospital management to strengthen security with more staff”.

In communication of GRTimes, with the president of the Employees’ Union of the Kavala Hospital, regarding what exactly happened, Ms. Petraki spoke of “a man who was beside himself and who was arrested as a lawsuit was filed against him. He even abused the manager, who tried to thoroughly inform him about the reasons why his relative had passed away. As far as we know, he has also done the same against the hospital management, while we will respond in the same way, that is, with a new complaint for false accusation”.

Ms. Petraki, however, made it clear that despite the fact that the alleged perpetrator did not stop at the verbal confrontation and hurling insults, none of those involved were injured. In fact, according to the post, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred at the hospital, while he called for an increase in security personnel, as the existing ones are not sufficient.
