The platform for the third installment appointments recorded the greatest mobility since the start of the vaccinations, as the Minister of State and Digital Government, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated on SKAI and the show “Unmatched”.
“From the moment the committee decided to make the third installment in 3 months, there was a huge mobility in the system, the largest that has been recorded so far. Indicatively, 557,000 third installment appointments and 44,112 first installment appointments were closed from Friday to Sunday. “As far as citizens over 60 are concerned, since last Tuesday when the measure of compulsory vaccination was announced, 55,400 first-dose appointments have been closed”, he stated characteristically.
Regarding the digitization of the procedures, the minister pointed out that today he will present to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, together with the co-responsible ministers, the digital renewal of driving licenses and the copy of the driving licenses. “So far we have done the temporary driver’s license digitally, we have done deeds in relation to the licenses and now we are doing something, which is necessary and people have been asking us for a long time, the renewal of the driver’s license and a copy of the driver’s license”, write down.
Mr. Pierrakakis added that every year 210,000 renewals of driving licenses are made with a non-standard procedure. “All this will now be done digitally, through a platform. “Drivers over the age of 65 will of course meet the doctors for the exams, but all the rest will be done digitally via sms, citizens’ updates, etc.”, he added.
Regarding the original signature, he said it was the last addition made by the ministry, along with the private contracts. “What was left for us were the digital signatures, which also have an international scope. We will give away 650,000 digital signatures for free in January to targeted professional groups such as lawyers, notaries, business managers, accountants, etc. Digital signatures come at a cost and are an expensive service. “The state supplies them and gives them to the citizens”, he underlined.
Asked about the possibility of adding the identity and diplomas to the wallet of mobile phones, he stated that the goal is to convert the mobile phones into an identification element. “With the freedom pass for young people, it was about an intangible debit card. Respectively, with the wallet we hear from many people who have taken a photo of their identity and seek to move and identify. This is less secure than building a targeted service not with new IDs or new driver’s licenses, but with existing ones. We want to add these to the wallet, with additional care of personal data “, he concluded.
