The holding of a 24-hour nationwide strike on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 and protest rallies in Athens, but also in other major cities of the country, was decided by the Plenary of the Management of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), which met today.

“The Confederation, appreciating the difficult situation facing the world of wage labor and society in general, with the rapid increase in energy costs and the soaring prices of basic necessities, declares that the horizontal benefits with a pre-election flavor they don’t solve the problem. Unfortunately, the haves and haves, with political tolerance, have shifted all the burdens to the world of wage labor. Now, more than at any other time, it is necessary to increase the minimum wage and restore the collective labor law with the universal force of collective labor agreements in all sectors of the economy” points out the GSEE in its announcement.
