The National Technical University of Athens ranks 1st in Greece and 201-250 of universities worldwide in Graduate Employability, according to the ranking Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) 2022.

The top 5 Universities are MIT, Stanford, UCLA, Univ. Syndey and Harvard. Between of the top 20 are 5 European Universitiesnamely Oxford (#7), Cambridge (#11), Institut Polytechnique de Paris (#12) and UCL (#20).

The rating of each institution consists of five indicators:

(see https://www.topuniversities.com/employability-rankings/methodology )

1) Employer reputation (30%), 2) Alumni outcomes (25%), 3) Partnerships with employers per faculty (25%), 4 ) Employer-student relations with reduction to the size of the student population – Employer/student connections (10%) and 5) Graduate employment rate (10%).

The ranking is based on more than 75,000 responses in the QS Employer Survey and analyzing more than 40,000 of the world’s most innovative, creative, financially strong, entrepreneurs and/or philanthropists to determine which universities are producing graduates with an impact on international developments. This year’s ranking includes university partnerships with 2,000 leading international companies, as listed in Fortune and Forbes.

Among the Greek Universitiesthe Athens University of Economics and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens are ranked in positions 301-500 and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in positions from 501 and above.

The QS ranking

The specific criteria/indicators indicate reinforcing measures to improve NTUA’s position in the global ranking of graduate employability. Among them is the upgrading of NTUA activities and structures aimed at the proximity of engineering students and (future) employers in Greece and abroad. Since the employability of our graduates is measured on an international scale, the effect of brain drain on the final ranking is estimated to be significant and lends itself to investigation, through QS data or other sources. QS data goes back to 2018 and therefore does not lend itself to meaningful comparative analysis. From 2018 until today, NTUA maintains positions 201-250 in the international ranking regarding the employability of graduates.
