A big case of revenge porn unfolds in Patras, as it circulates from mobile to mobile, a list of videos and photos of intimate moments of dozens of young girls.
According to her publication newspaper Peloponnisos, the list includes a total of 141 files, and each one also concerns a girl from Patras. Inside the folder, one can see videos and photos of the girl from her personal moments. Either when she is alone in a place or with a partner.
The unusual thing about this list is that each folder (file) also has the girl’s name. A scientist from Patras, a well-known woman from the fashion industry, some club workers in the city, a doctor’s office worker, are just a few of the girls who, without knowing it, have been defamed and even in the worst way through this “list of shame” !

Even public erotic scenes with a view of… the Rio Antirio bridge, include the videos that are in this particular file.
According to information, hundreds (maybe even thousands) of people have the list on their mobile phones and of course some… refer these unsuspecting girls! Some seem to know that they are being videotaped or photographed, but others don’t.
The same sources report, according to the same publication, that only one of the 141 has filed lawsuits against specific people who leaked videos of their private moments. This is a girl who works in a well-known paternal chain cafe in the wider area of Agia Sophia and who had been informed of the existence of the video before it was included in the list.
The difficulty regarding the legal treatment of the issue with the 141 “files” is that the specific material has not been “posted” on the internet, but is circulated from mobile to mobile! So proving who is sharing it, who is using it, and who filmed it is difficult.
What’s more, if some videos or photos were sent by the girl herself to a partner and he later… made sure to report her!

It should be emphasized that according to the paternal lawyer Konstantinos Kremmidas, until June 2022, revenge pornography was criminally regulated by the personal data law, which provided a protection but for the conditions of criminal prosecution to apply, the the law required a profit motive, which made it difficult to prosecute a felony.
But from June 2022, the criminal code was amended, specifically article 346, and the law imposes a penalty of up to 8 years in prison.
In particular, whoever without right sends to third parties or posts images in plain view, or posts visual or audio-visual material concerning a public act of a third party with sexual content, is punished with imprisonment of at least 3 years.
