Georgiadis: Industries can build business parks where they themselves will be users and managers

by

Taking as an occasion the concerns of stakeholders about the management of business parks by ETVA, Mr. Georgiadis said that if some industries want to build a park with this law “they form a cooperative together, buy the land, build a park, and at the same time they are users and managers”.

The possibility of creating industrial parks by industries, which will be users and managers themselves, was pointed out by the Minister of Development & Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, in his intervention in the parliamentary Committee on Production & Trade, which is working on the bill entitled “Establishment, development, management and operation of Business Parks”.

Taking as an occasion the concerns of stakeholders about the management of business parks by ETVA, Mr. Georgiadis said that if some industries want to build a park with this law “they form a cooperative together, buy the land, build a park, and at the same time they are users and managers”.

For the reasons that ETVA did not do what was required, the minister said that no manager, either the present ETVA or the ETVA of the future, is going to put serious money into the parks if others decide on their money. Any investor who wants the money should control it himself: “Well, if we don’t give every manager the way to earn from the parks, we won’t have another manager,” said Mr. Georgiadis and repeated: “Whoever wants to make his own business park, (with the bill) we don’t close the market, we don’t just give them to ETVA, or nothing. He will make his own park and build it as he wants”.

It is noted that the bill was accepted, in principle, by the parliamentary committee (in favor of ND, reservation by SYRIZA, PASOK-Movement of Change and Hellenic Solution, against KKE and MeRA25).
