“We hope we are in a balance of the fourth wave of the pandemic. “Cases are not rising in this balance, and little by little we hope that there will be an escalation in the deaths, but also in the pressure on the NSS” said the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris from Larissa, during his participation in the meeting organized by Association of Thessalian Enterprises and Industries (STHEV) entitled: “Pandemic: Health, Social Development and Economy. What after the storm?
Mr. Plevris referred to the participation of the private sector in the pandemic, saying that “we managed to integrate the private structures in the Health system, so that there is relief in the NSS”.
At the same time, speaking about the situation that prevails in the ICUs, he launched an attack on SYRIZA regarding the criticism that the government accepts that there are empty ICU beds.
“31 SYRIZA MPs submitted a question as to whether or not there were VIP beds being held. The interest in such an important question is that it is not signed by the Head of Health of SYRIZA, Mr. Xanthos. who took distances. “Because we can accept criticism for many things, but for miserable things there will be answers,” the minister noted.
Among other things, Mr. Plevris pointed out that the economy will remain open, while for the Omicron mutation, he noted that “we hope that the first data that are positive will be recorded in 10 to 15 days that there will be clear data”.
At the same time, he noted that vaccinations are constantly increasing, while he spoke about the treatments that exist and can treat the condition. The Minister of Health appeared optimistic that the pandemic will be manageable in the near future, but also that in the course we will return to normalcy.
Finally, speaking about the future of the Health system, Mr. Plevris said that the NSS we need after the pandemic will include quality indicators,
“NSS does not mean a state health system. We will strengthen the NSS, but at the same time there will be partnerships with the private sector, where there are gaps. “What the pandemic has shown us is that we should not be dogmatic,” said the Minister of Health.
