The General Police Directorate of Attica issued an announcement late in the evening regarding reports of a lack of police officers at the Kolon Police Station when the mother of the 12-year-old went to report 53-year-old Ilias Michos.

According to GADA, there was no negligence by the police and the events happened as follows:

  • The parents of the minor went to the Kolonou Security Department in order to report illegal acts against their minor daughter.
  • The said Service immediately informed the Sub-Directorate for the Protection of Minors of the Attica Security Directorate, where the parents of the minor went on the same day and filed their complaint.
  • A relevant criminal case file was filed by the Sub-Directorate for the Protection of Minors of the Attica Security Directorate, while it is noted that the Service in question is materially competent and is staffed by specialized personnel for the investigation of such cases.

The girl allegedly lived with him an absolute nightmare in the hands of the 53-year-old shop owner, in which she worked to help her family financially. He is accused of sexually abusing her and videotaping her.

Alone, isolated from the rest of the prisoners, he is kept in the holding cells on the 7th floor of GADA Ilias Michos.
