On January 18, 2023, the trial for the murder of 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos was determined before the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki, with twelve young people accused – who are temporarily held in prisons.

After the rejection, by the Supreme Court, of the request submitted by the 19-year-old’s family to have the trial held in Athens for security reasons, the Appeals Prosecutor’s Office of Thessaloniki proceeded to determine the trial, which will be held a few days before the completion of one year from the murderous attack (1/2/2022), with fan characteristics.

The twelve defendants are being prosecuted for manslaughter, committed (in the case of the 19-year-old) and attempted (in the case of one of his injured friends), jointly, as well as for assault and possession of objects capable of causing bodily harm, with the aggravated provisions of the Sports Law, illegal carrying of weapons and use of weapons.

In addition, one of them is accused of attempted murder in the case of the second injured young man – a friend of the murdered man, and the remaining 11 as simple accomplices in this act.
