EFET recalls organic rice wafers from the market

Aflatoxin was detected in the raw material of the product

Organic Rice Wafers, for the preparation of which a raw material (rice) was used in which aflatoxin B1 was detected, the Unified Food Control Agency recalls from the market.

In particular, EFET was informed through the Early Warning System for Food and Animal Feed (RASFF) about the distribution on the Greek market by Belgian companies Continental Bakeries Belgium and Lima natuurvoeding NV organic rice wafers for the preparation of which raw material (rice) was used in which aflatoxin B1 was detected.

Following further investigation by the Attica Regional Directorate of EFET, the products are as follows:

A) The product with a trade name “BRINK ORG RICE CAKES SALT & SESAME 12X100G” batch H22160F and best before date preferably before 10-06-23, which was traded by the company “HELLINIKES HYPERAGORES SKLAVENITIS”.

B) The product with a trade name “AB THINK BIO RICE CAKES 12X100G” batch H22155J and best-by date preferably before 05-06-23, which was sold by the company “AB VASSILOPOULOS SA”.

c) The product with a trade name “LIMA ORGANIC RICE CAKES THIN 130G” batch R22182B and best before 07-02-23, which was sold by the company “MKM VITALITY LTD”.

The ΕΤΕΤ requested the recall/withdrawal of the products in question and the relevant checks are ongoing. At the same time, it calls on consumers, who have purchased the above products, not to consume them.
