DOM, Alex Atala’s restaurant, launches an executive menu for R$98 at lunch

Those who want to visit DOM, an award-winning restaurant run by chef Alex Atala, had only one option: pay at least R$690 to try the local tasting menu. But now space launches another option, much more affordable.

The haute cuisine house returns with its executive menu, always served at lunch, from Monday to Friday, for R$ 98. But this value does not take into account the addition of service, usually in the amount of 10%, or 13 %. By law, tipping is optional and not mandatory.

Called Brazilian lunch, the pê-efe has a green salad and manioc bread as a starter. For the main course, choose between the fish of the day, chicken or filet mignon escalope, which come with white rice, red beans, black beans, sautéed potatoes, sautéed cabbage with bacon, breaded banana and farofa.

Usually included in the executive menus of many restaurants in São Paulo, dessert is left out and is offered separately. There are suggestions such as seasonal fruits, for R$31, and the classic milk pudding, which costs R$39. Drinks are also not included.

With that, there are now two options for getting to know the DOM — the new executive menu and the tasting menu. The house does not offer a la carte dishes.

In both cases, it is necessary to make a reservation in advance through the website domrestaurante.com.br and, when you arrive there, inform the chosen meal. But the restaurant warns: it is not possible to order the executive and the tasting at the same table.

The tasting menu is served for dinner and lunch. Composed of ten stages, it includes seafood, meat and fish, with fresh ingredients of the day. For the same price, there is the option of ordering the vegetarian version.

Also, a last option is a dish for children, which has spaghetti in butter with beef escalope. It costs R$ 68.

The Brazilian cuisine restaurant often appears on the list of the 100 best in the world — Alex Atala’s address was ranked 53rd in this year’s ranking of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants award. In the same list, Casa do Porco, by Janaina and Jefferson Rueda, reached seventh place.
