The passage of EVA bad weather was particularly noticeable in the North-East Aegean.

In particular, a message via 112 was sent to the residents of Samos, Ikaria and the Dodecanese, warning them of dangerous weather phenomena (strong storms) from noon today until tomorrow morning.

Specifically, the message states: “Dangerous weather phenomena (strong storms) from noon today until morning tomorrow in Samos, Ikaria, Dodecanese. Limit your movements and follow the instructions of the authorities. Self-protection instructions at civilprotection.gr”.

The same, an operation to extricate four people, from an ICHE car as a result of a diversion, was set up today by firefighters, in the Kedros area of ​​Samos.

EKAV ambulances rushed to the scene, as well as a team of the Fire Service with 12 firefighters and 6 vehicles, led by the commander of the Samos police station, Giorgos Miaoulis, who helped free the people.

According to information, the driver of the car lost control of her vehicle due to the intense slipperiness of the road, causing it to fall into a ravine.

Two women and two children (grandmother, daughter and grandchildren) were taken to the hospital.

How is the bad weather moving?

According the new prognosis of the EMY the phenomena will be strong in places until the afternoon in central Macedonia, eastern Thessaly, Attica and eastern Peloponnese. Until the evening hours in the Sporades, Evia, the Cyclades and western Crete and from the early afternoon in the eastern Aegean from the Samos-Ikaria region and further south to the Dodecanese.

Winds will blow from south directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean locally 7 Beaufort. Gradually in the west, central and north they will turn to north directions 4 to 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop and its maximum value will not exceed 18 to 20 degrees on the mainland and 20 to 22 degrees Celsius on the islands.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Clouds with rain in Macedonia and sporadic storms in central Macedonia. The phenomena, which in central Macedonia will be strong in places until the afternoon hours, will gradually weaken from the evening. In Thrace, temporarily increased clouds with temporary local rains.

Winds: East southeast 4 to 6 Beaufort, in the evening they will turn to north directions 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: In Macedonia up to 19 degrees Celsius and in western Macedonia 3 to 4 degrees lower. In Thrace up to 21 degrees Celsius.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WESTERN Mainland, WESTERN PELOPONNISE

Weather: Cloudy with local rain and sporadic storms. From the afternoon, the phenomena will gradually weaken.

Winds: Southeast 4 to 5 Beaufort, will gradually turn to North Northeast with the same intensity.

Temperature: Up to 20 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus it will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

THESSALIA, EASTERN CONTINENTA, EASTERN PELOPONNISUS

Weather: Cloudy with rain and storms. The effects until the afternoon hours will be strong in places in eastern Thessaly and eastern Peloponnese and until the evening hours in the Sporades.

Winds: South Southeast 4 to 6 Beaufort, in the evening will change to North Northeast 4 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: Up to 19 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Clouds with rain and storms. The effects until the evening hours will be strong in places.

Winds: Southerly 5 to 6 and locally 7 Beaufort with a slight weakening in the evening.

Temperature: Up to 22 degrees Celsius.

EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE

Clouds with rain and storms. The phenomena in the area of ​​Samos – Ikaria and gradually in the Dodecanese will be strong in places.

Winds: Southeast 5 to 6 and locally 7 Beaufort, at night in the north will turn to East 4 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: Up to 22 degrees Celsius.

In Thessaly, the Sporades, eastern Sterea, Evia, eastern Peloponnese, the Cyclades, Crete, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese, clouds with local rain and storms are forecast. The phenomena, which in the early hours of the morning in the Dodecanese will be strong in places, will gradually weaken and be limited to the Dodecanese and Crete. In the rest of the areas few clouds temporarily increased.

In the morning and evening hours in continental areas, visibility will be locally limited.

Winds will blow from north directions 3 to 5 and locally in the Aegean 6 Beaufort and only in the southeast in the morning hours will blow southeast 4 to 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise in the central and northern areas and its maximum value will reach 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

A few clouds temporarily increased in the morning hours, so temporary rains may occur in the southernmost parts of central Macedonia.

New meeting in Civil Protection

To evaluate the new meteorological data, a new meeting was held earlier today at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, led by the Minister, Christos Stylianidis, with the participation of the Deputy Minister, Evangelos Tournas, the Secretary General, Vasilios Papageorgiou, the leadership of the Fire Department, as well as and meteorologists.

In the context of the meeting, the development of the bad weather so far was examined, while it was decided to send new warning messages through 112, if deemed appropriate, depending on the course of the bad weather. All Civil Protection forces remain fully deployed and ready to deal with any emergencies due to bad weather.

Alongside, the General Secretariat of Civil Protection advises citizens to be particularly careful, taking care to take self-protection measures against risks arising from the occurrence of severe weather phenomena.
