Meeting of representatives of American Universities with the NTUA delegation

They started today at noon the meetings of the representatives of the 30 US universities with Greek universities. The first meeting was with the National Technical University of Athens. NTUA’s Rector’s Office, Deans of Schools and professors met with the representatives of 16 US universities. THE Rector Andreas Boutouvis presented NTUA activities related to academic collaborations with the USA and the prospects for their expansion and strengthening and pointed out the main challenges.

On behalf of the American delegation, Prof Dena Haritos Tsamitis from the University Carnegie Mellon referred to the objectives of the visit of the American Universities delegation, and the representatives of all the universities participating in the meeting briefly presented their policy and their proposals for possible bilateral collaborations. The two-hour meeting concluded with a short discussion on specific practical issues of bilateral cooperation.

Earlier, at the morning gala event Pharos Summit 2022 at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center was presented NTUA’s collaboration with Columbia University for a double degree. The presentation from the Columbia side was made by the Professor Alexander Cooley and from NTUA the Dean of the School of Civil Engineering Professor Nikos Lagaros.
