The tunnel will be closed in order to conduct a large-scale firefighting exercise
A large-scale fire drill will be held in the Vrilissi tunnel of the Attica Road, from 11:00 p.m. tonight, until 05:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, with the participation of the Attic Routes, the Fire Department, the Hellenic Police and the EKAV. In particular, by virtue of a decision of the Attica Traffic Directorate, for the specific period of time there will be a total blockade of traffic in the Vrilissi tunnel on the way to Elefsina, as well as a total blockade of the Plakentia entrance branch (junction 13) towards Elefsina.
Traffic from Airport / Markopoulos / Katehaki will be diverted to the Pentelis exit (exit 12) and through Attiki Street (Vrilission Park above the tunnel) will re-enter the Attiki Road to Elefsina from the Pentelis West toll station, without paying a second toll. Likewise, traffic bound for the Attiki Road to Elefsina through the entrance branch of the Plakentia junction (junction 13), will be diverted via Attiki Street and will enter the Attiki Road to Elefsina from the Pentelis West toll station, without paying tolls.
