A 25-year-old Moldovan was arrested yesterday morning on Egnatia Odos, after a chase, as according to the police, he was illegally transporting people who lacked travel documents, three of them were even found in the luggage compartment of the vehicle.
As part of patrols on Egnatia Odos, police officers spotted the passenger car he was driving. In order to avoid the control, the 25-year-old developed speed, and then, after stopping the vehicle at the height of the Ascent toll road, he tried to escape. After a foot chase, he was arrested despite the strong resistance he put up, according to the information.
During the inspection, as reported, it was found illegal transportation of foreigners who lacked documents for their legal stay in Greek territory, three of which were found in the baggage area.
