She gave birth to two healthy baby boys at their heliport Paxon at 1:00 p.m. a 28-year-old woman, who had been taken there in order to be transported to the Corfu hospital by EKAV helicopter.

Due to the strong southerly winds blowing in the Ionian since yesterday, there was no earlier way of transporting the woman to Corfu. The director of the Paxos Health Center, Michalis Kandasdecided that the pregnant woman, who was in labor pains, had to be urgently transferred to the Corfu hospital and called an operational helicopter.

As Mr. Kandas told APE-MBE, the EKAV helicopter arrived from Aktio, with a doctor and a nurse. He accompanied the pregnant woman in the ambulance from the Health Center to the helipad, where as soon as they arrived, the woman went into labor. Together with his colleagues from the helicopter they gave birth to the woman in the ambulance stretcher. The two boys were born a quarter of an hour apart and wrapped in isothermal blankets they were taken by helicopter to the airport of Corfu and from there to the hospital.
