Glyfada: Inauguration of the new mega Vaccination Center – Serves up to 1,800 citizens per day (Pic)

The new mega Vaccination Center in Glyfada was inaugurated today at noon, in the presence of the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris.

The new mega Vaccination Center, staffed by health and other personnel from the Greek Red Cross and the Armed Forces, has 16 vaccination lines and will be able to serve 1,500-1,800 citizens daily. The inauguration was attended by the Secretary General of Primary Health Care Marios Themistokleous, the Mayor of Glyfada George Papanikolaou and the President of the Hellenic Red Cross (ECC) Antonis Avgerinos.

The new mega Vaccination Center, staffed by health and other personnel from the Greek Red Cross and the Armed Forces, has 16 vaccination lines and will be able to serve 1,500-1,800 citizens daily.

As part of the effort to speed up the vaccinations and the immediate service of the increasing appointments, from December 18, 24 additional vaccination lines will operate in the mega Vaccination Center of Peristeri.

After the completion of the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Health Th. Plevris stressed: “It is now clear – all the evidence shows – that our defense against the pandemic is the vaccine. It is very important that in the numbers of vaccinations we are more above what we were last spring and that we are now shielded. Regarding the pandemic, we now have optimistic messages that we are in recession. We must, however, be prepared that in any other outbreak we are fortified and that our vaccination coverage is well above the European average we are already in, and that it protects us, each one individually, but also the Public health”.

For his part, M. Themiatokleous, stressed that “In the vaccination program, the appropriate adjustments are made, so that we can cope with the very increased demand and achieve the goals regarding the first, but also the booster dose. As part of this effort, from December 18 we will have 24 additional vaccination lines at the mega Vaccination Center of Peristeri “.

“We will be very happy to support this effort and I think many of our fellow citizens will be served in the best possible way in this large vaccination center that will start operating normally from tomorrow,” said Mr. Papanikolaou in his speech.

A. Augerinos, referring to the nurses, said that “here, there are 50 nurses, graduates, well trained, well-versed in know-how, but also in the great experience of this great I would say problem that the country is facing, which, however, we face in the in the best possible way, and that’s why we’re here.
