Five people were arrested. 43 kilograms of hashish and a large amount of cocaine were seized
Five (5) members of a criminal organization, including three foreigners and two nationals, who were active in drug trafficking in the wider area of Thessaloniki, were arrested yesterday afternoon, in areas of Thessaloniki, as part of an organized operation, by police officers of the Drama Security Department. .
At the expense of those arrested a criminal case was filed for the offenses of criminal organization, storage, trafficking and possession of narcotic substances as the case may be.
Officers carried out a coordinated operation, which was joined by the drug police dog ‘VERA’.
During the investigation, the police located a car in an area of Thessaloniki, which had previously been parked by a foreigner and at the moment when together with the other two foreigners and one citizen they tried to pick it up, they were immobilized and arrested, and in an investigation that carried out inside the vehicle found (37) packages with raw hemp, total weight 41 kg and 764 grams.
As part of the operation, the police officers carried out searches in houses kept by the perpetrators as a place to store and hide the drugs, where they located and arrested the fifth perpetrator, while inside the houses they also found:
- 4 nylon packages and 1 glass container with raw cannabis, total weight 2 kg and 90.1 grams,
- 5 nylon packages with cocaine, total weight 123.2 grams and
- 1 electronic precision scale.
A total of 43 kilograms and 854.1 grams of raw cannabis, 123.2 grams of cocaine, 1 precision electronic scale, the vehicle used by the perpetrators as a means of transporting the drugs, the sum of 4,675 euros and mobile phones were confiscated.
Those arrested will be taken to the competent Prosecutor, while the preliminary investigation work is carried out by the Drama Security Department.
