As Mr. Staikouras said, by his own decision, the Ministry of Finance is taking back the aid it has given to the organization until the case is finalized.
The Ministry of Finance, by a decision of Christos Staikouras, is withdrawing the financial support to the “Ark of the World”, after the shocking allegations of sexual abuse in the structure of minors.
The statement was made by the finance minister himself, speaking to Mega.
As Mr. Staikouras said, by his own decision, the Ministry of Finance is taking back the aid it has given to the organization until the case is finalized.
The finance minister said: “The complaints are shocking things and need investigation. As a Ministry we have recently strengthened many of these structures to ultimately empower children. Yesterday, by my own decision, the Ministry is taking back the aid until the case is finalised. We need to know where this money is going.”
As it became known yesterday, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs canceled the concession of EFKA’s property to the Ark of the World.
During the discussion of the draft law on “Rationalization of insurance and pension legislation, strengthening of vulnerable social groups and other provisions”, in the Social Affairs Committee of the Parliament, the Deputy Minister of Labour, Panagiotis Tsakloglou, withdrew the article 32 of the bill concerning the transfer of the property of EFKA to the “Ark of the World” until – as he said – the case of the complaints that have been made is clarified.
