The 54-year-old man, who confessed that on August 3, 2021, he murdered his wife in the tavern where she worked in Sotiritsa Agias, Larissa prefecture, will be in front of the Mixed Jury Court of Volos today.
It is recalled that during the first hearing on November 14, the recorded conversation the defendant had with his wife, shortly before murdering her, was read by the court. After the act, the accused allegedly said to the woman’s mother: “Take 100, I killed my wife because she was unfaithful. I killed her because she was unfaithful” reports larissanet.gr.
During the hearing, the victim’s mother, daughter and eldest son testified, and as defense witnesses the accused’s sister, his cousin, a neighbor and a colleague. Before the tragic incident, the defendant worked as an employee at ELTA and lived with his family in Athens
Today, the trial is expected to begin with the testimony of two other witnesses and the subsequent apology of the accusedwho is sitting in the dock for the acts of intentional homicide in a calm state of mind, illegal carrying of a weapon, use of a weapon and possession of a weapon.
