Yesterday, early afternoon, the first group of migrants who were rescued last Tuesday south of Crete boarded three coaches and were taken to the port of Souda.
There, under the supervision of the port officials, they boarded the liner for Piraeus, where they are expected today.
Migrants will be taken to reception facilities and – for those who have requested asylum – their request will be examined.
The same process is expected to take place on Sunday night and be completed on Monday night.
In the meantime, on Monday morning, the seven who were arrested as being in charge of the fishing boat on which the migrants sailed from Libya and bound for Italy will be brought before the Prosecutor and the investigator for an apology.
