It all started just before 10pm on Sunday night (27/11) when a fire broke out in a 2nd floor apartment on Alkyonis Street in Metaxourgeio, where a family lived with their three minor children, aged 5, 7 and 12.
Neighbors who saw the smoke called the Fire Service, which rushed and immediately extinguished the fire with 15 firefighters and 5 vehicles. At the same time, he freed the three minor children, but the youngest was unconscious.
In fact, one of the neighbors who was the first to help the child, massaged him until the EKAV ambulance arrived and took him to the ATTIKO hospital.
The other two minor children were taken to the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital, for preventive reasons, due to the fumes.
According to information, there were many LED lights in the house, while the father speculates that the fire may have started from a lighter that one of the older brothers of the 5-year-old boy was playing with on the couch of the house.
The preliminary investigation into the incident is ongoing.
