Deepening the Greek-French defense agreement: Cybersecurity, coordination, co-education

Athens and Paris are deepening the Greek-French defense agreement in various operational areas such as cybersecurity, coordination and joint training.
In this context, the first round of talks between the military delegations of Greece and France in the framework of the recent agreement between the two countries for the establishment of a strategic partnership was successfully completed.

Cooperation in defense and security concerns the drawing up of the roadmap for military cooperation between Greece and France.

As announced today Friday by the General Staff, the aim of the talks was the detailed investigation and reaching an agreement on the ways in which the interoperability between the Armed Forces of the two countries will be enhanced in the light of strengthening their military cooperation, as well as coordination. of their joint actions within the framework of NATO, the EU, but also bilaterally, as well as in the multilateral cooperation schemes in which the two countries participate.

In particular, it is added to the announcement, during the talks, possibilities for the expansion of the existing ones and the development of new collaborations in the fields were explored:

– The execution of operations.
– The planning and execution of business training activities.
Space, cybersecurity and information.
– The co-training of Special Operations Units.
– The exchange of trainers and trainees between military educational institutions and schools.
– Responsibility of the individual Branches of the Armed Forces.

The Greek delegation was headed by the Director of the Strategy – Policy – Defense Planning and Capabilities Division of GEETHA, Lt. Admiral Frangiskos Leloudas, which consisted of the Director of the International Relations Directorate of as well as officers of the Special War Administration of GEETHA.

The head of the French delegation, which consisted of corresponding staff of the French Defense Staff, was the Director of International Relations of the French Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Laurent Marboeuf.
